Below, we’ve compiled key information about loans, grants, and other resources that may be useful for businesses affected by the recent wildfires and windstorms.

NEW! Small Business Administration Disaster Loan Outreach Center is Open
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) opened a Disaster Loan Outreach Center that is open from 9AM-6PM Monday-Friday, and 9AM-4PM Saturdays, at the Altadena Disaster Recovery Center at 540 W. Woodbury Rd., Altadena, CA 91001.
The center assists small businesses, private nonprofit organizations, and residents who sustained physical damages and/or economic losses from the wildfires and straight-line winds that began Jan. 7. SBA staff will help you apply for federal disaster relief loans. SBDC Advisors can help you with broader business issues on how to restart and rebuild, including insurance questions, how to support your employees and more. Visit the center to get face-to-face assistance from SBA and SBDC advisors. Walk-ins are welcome, or you can schedule an appointment in advance at appointment.sba.gov.
LA County Emergency Resources for Workers and Businesses is Live
LA Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) and partners have compiled information, programs, and resources for workers and businesses affected by the Los Angeles fires. Resources include webinars, loans (local, state, and federal), grants, financial counseling, legal services, insurance and tax information, workforce assistance, FEMA emergency relief, business technical assistance, and more. B-2-B Space Share
Got room to spare? Help a displaced business thrive. LA County has launched Business-to-Business Space Share, a free exchange platform that connects displaced businesses, including non-profits, to temporary workspaces generously donated by other businesses throughout LA County. If you have space to donate, check out the FAQ for instructions on how to get added to this directory.
Loans for Businesses
Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL)
Small businesses and most private nonprofit organizations located in a declared disaster area and which have suffered substantial economic injury may be eligible for an SBA EIDL. EIDL assistance is available regardless of whether the organization suffered any physical property damage. If you lost business due to anything fire-related, you may be eligible for an EIDL. For example, if you lost customers or access to your business or employees, etc. The EIDL can help and is one of the best debt instruments you can get with up to 30 year terms and interest rates below 4%. To apply, visit the Disaster Loan Outreach Center in Altadena. Walk-ins are accepted, but appointments get priority. Make an appointment at appointment.sba.gov.
Disaster Relief Loan Guarantee Program (DRLGP)
The DRLGP loan help mitigate barriers to capital for small businesses that have suffered a loss (either physical or economic) due to a disaster. The program helps businesses remain solvent during an extremely difficult time and eventually recover from their losses. You can receive help in the application from the Pasadena SBDC, who are at the Disaster Loan Outreach Center in Pasadena. Walk-in or make an appointment here.
Grant Programs
Insurance Deductible Relief Fund
Team Friday supports impacted small businesses with cash based mutual aid to help cover the cost of deductibles for insurance claims. Submit your application for potential award.
Grant for Food & Beverage Workers
California Restaurant Foundation’s Restaurants Care opened a temporary fund to provide emergency relief grants to food and beverage workers impacted by the Los Angeles Area Fires. Grants will range between $350-$1,500. Grants will be awarded based on need and available funding. Visit their website for eligibility requirements and to apply.
Entertainment Community Fund
Emergency financial assistance available to eligible performing arts and entertainment professionals in times of unexpected critical need and to assist toward basic living expenses such as health care, housing and utilities to prevent eviction or shut offs. Learn more here.
