SCCM: Play for all abilities
We welcome children and families of all abilities. Play for All Abilities hours take place the last Thursday of every month from 12:00-3:00 PM. These are dedicated play hours when we welcome families and children with developmental differences. Play for All Abilities means we stand true to our values of access and inclusion.
During Play for All Abilities hours, we adjust our space and programs to provide:
- Less crowded space
- Quiet atmosphere with limited stimuli (low lights, no music, no microphone)
- Provide space for families to build community and children to make friends
- Sensory backpacks, which include noise-cancelling headphones and sensory toys*
- Visual guide
- Nonverbal communication cards
Regular admission applies. Play passes may be used for this event.
Can’t make it during Play for All Abilities hours? Our sensory backpacks are available any day of the week as a free daily rental, ask a staff member at check-in!
