The recent fires have had a profound impact on our communities, altering landscapes and erasing parts of our shared history. Join Pasadena Heritage for a Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon at Blinn House on April 26 to help document and preserve what was lost.

Participants will upload photos, expand articles, and create new Wikipedia pages about the fire’s impact, casualties, and historical significance. Experienced Wikipedia editors will be available to guide the process; all skill levels are welcome.

  • Bring your laptop – Wi-Fi will be available.

  • Sign up for a Wikipedia account in advance to avoid registration issues.

  • Bring your own photos of properties lost or damaged to help expand the historical record

The recent fires have left us all in shock, altering landscapes and communities in ways that are difficult to comprehend. In response, we invite you to join us for a public Wikipedia edit-a-thon—a space for remembrance, healing, and action.

Wikipedia is many people’s first stop for information, and as a platform built by and for everyday people across the globe, it provides an opportunity for us to collectively document and preserve what was lost. Together, we can ensure that the history, impact, and resilience of our communities live on.

During this event, we will:

📌 Upload and archive photographs of affected areas
📌 Expand and create Wikipedia articles on the fire’s impact, casualties, and historical significance
📌 Share knowledge, stories, and resources to strengthen public records

Experienced Wikipedia editors will be on hand to guide the process, and all levels of experience are welcome—whether you’re a researcher, writer, photographer, or someone looking to contribute in any way. If you have reference materials, media, or other resources, your contributions will be invaluable.

🔹 Please bring your laptop to participate fully in editing and uploading content. Wi-Fi will be available.

🔹 Sign up for a Wikipedia account before attending! New accounts created at the event can sometimes trigger spam/vandalism filters, so we strongly encourage you to register in advance. You can also sign up for the event and find helpful resources on our on-wiki event page:

This is more than just an edit-a-thon; it’s a way to process loss, uplift our communities, and ensure that what once stood is not forgotten. Join us in preserving these memories and shaping a collective history that honors both destruction and resilience.
