A perfect complement to July’s Art Deco walking tour, we are offering a special presentation on Automobiles & the Art Deco Era in Pasadena. Presenters will include John Dean, Pasadena Heritage Board Member, and John Roth, a former docent and presenter from the recently-closed Mullin Automotive Museum in Oxnard, California. An expert on Art Deco-designed automobiles from the 1920s to 1940s, Roth will present on the automobile history in Pasadena and the unique attributes of the West Coast that shaped our transportation history and spurred the growth of the automobile industry in Pasadena.
Pasadena has a rich automobile history and several notable landmarks related to Pasadena’s car culture are still present today along Green Street and Colorado Boulevard. Join us for a lecture on the elements of Art Deco and Streamline Modern design in architecture and beyond, and how these design elements carried over into everything from household appliances to automobiles!
You are invited to join us in person or virutally for this special program! The lecture will be livestreamed via Zoom and a recording will be made available to ticket holders shortly after the event.
