Craftsman residential architecture encompasses several major sub-styles, ranging from the original Stickley version to the Swiss Chalet style and other variants. Being able to recognize the sub-styles can increase the pleasure of viewing the buildings and enhance restoration accuracy. Pasadena historian and author John Ripley will use current and historical images to illustrate the development and features of these different Craftsman versions. Homes shown will range from vernacular designs to those of sophisticated architects like Greene & Greene, the Heineman brothers, and Sylvanus Marston. Please note this lecture will take place in person at the historic Blinn House.
