Let’s take it back to 1999! Playhouse Village continues the summer season with Movies in the Park presented by Landmark Theatres Pasadena and Playhouse Village Foundation. The Retro Replay edition of the free outdoor community movie screenings will feature iconic films from ’99: The Year That Changed Movies on select Friday evenings in August at the lawn of Playhouse Village Park.
7PM | Seating on the lawn opens – Arrive early to secure a prime viewing spot with a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy pre-movie activities like FREE popcorn, 90’s photo ops, arts & crafts, and movie trivia with prizes.
8PM | Movie will begin after sunset
The first 50 people to arrive at each screening, will receive a Buy One, Get One FREE Movie Ticket offer from Landmark Theatres. See you there!

August 9: 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU (1999, PG-13)
A modern adaptation of Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew,” this beloved teen romantic comedy features standout performances by Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles. Set in a high school, the film follows the story of a rebellious girl who must be wooed so that her younger sister can date, leading to unexpected romance and humor.
August 23: THE SIXTH SENSE (1999, PG-13)
Directed by M. Night Shyamalan, this psychological thriller stars Bruce Willis as a child psychologist who is helping a young boy (Haley Joel Osment) who claims he can see dead people. With its iconic twists and chilling atmosphere, The Sixth Sense has become a staple in cinematic history.
Retro Replay, Landmark’s weekly series of modern and vintage film favorites, features films so satisfying they’re reviving them on the big screen to enjoy again for just $5! This August, Landmark Theatres is celebrating ’99: The Year That Changed Hollywood with these additional special screenings at their Pasadena theatre location:

Event Rules & Regulations
- Lawn seating is available on a FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED basis until we reach event capacity. Your interest on Eventbrite or Facebook is not a ticket and does not guarantee a space on the lawn.
- Blankets and/or low-backed chairs are permitted anywhere on the lawn. If you are using high-backed chairs (seat higher than 9” from the ground or the top of the back is taller than 31″ from the ground – excluding wheelchairs) please use the rear area or along the edges of the lawn as to not restrict the view of others.
- There is no food or beverages available for purchase at Movies in the Park, but we encourage you to pick up or order from your favorite local restaurant at playhousevillage.org/dining. Landmark Theatres will be at the screening giving out FREE popcorn for you to snack on!
