Pasadena Cheeseburger Week 2024

It was one hundred years ago that teenage Lionel Clark Sternberger placed a piece of cheese on a hamburger, christening it the Aristocratic Burger at the Rite Spot in Pasadena, CA. Fast forward to the present day, and restaurants throughout Pasadena pay homage to Lionel Sternberger’s genius with Cheeseburger Week, presented by the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce every January. Participating in the Village are El Portal, The Stand, Urth Caffe, and Yahaira’s Cafe amongst other Pasadena restaurants.

- Start at Yahaira’s or El Portal for their famous and amazingly delicious Zacatecas Burger made with a delicious combination of beef and chorizo;
- Down Green Street and up El Molino, across from the Pasadena Playhouse, you’ll find The Stand, past winner of the Cheeseburger Challenge favorite burger. Try one of their delicious burgers on the patio and enjoy Southern California in the winter.
- Next, stop in at Urth Caffe on Colorado at Madison for their delicious turkey burger.
