But psychologists have identified a fourth\, extremely common (yet little-understood) response: fawning. Often conflated with “codependency” or “people-pleasing\,” fawning occurs when we inexplicably draw closer to a person or relationship that causes pain\, rather than pulling away. \nDo you apologize to people who have hurt you?\nIgnore their bad behavior?\nBefriend your bullies?\nObsess about saying the right thing?\nMake yourself into someone you’re not . . . while seeking approval that may never come?\nYou might be a fawner. \nFawning explains why we stay in bad jobs\, fall into unhealthy partnerships\, and tolerate dysfunctional environments\, even when it seems so obvious to others that we should go. And though fawning serves a purpose–it’s an ingenious protective strategy in unsafe situations–it’s a problem if it becomes a repetitive\, compulsory reaction in our daily lives. \nBut here’s the good news: we can break the pattern of chronic fawning\, once we see it for the trauma response it is. Taking place over the course of one turbulent night at the Costa Verde hotel on the verge of a world war\, the play asks what constitutes escape\, what bargains are we willing to make with ourselves\, and how much we yearn for real human connection – especially when we’re at the end of our rope.

DESCRIPTION:Since 2023\, Jason Luckett\, a local musician\, has brought together artists to host a showcase of talent. 2nd Saturday Jazz Night was born as a place for artists to experiment and share their gifts with the local community. Once a month\, you’ll enjoy an eclectic mix of musicians and vocal artists to make you smile\, sing along and meet locals. \nJoin us every Second Saturday of the month from 8:00-10:30pm for a musical showcase\, wine and snacks. A suggested $25 donation is required and directly supports the artists. Beverages and snacks will be available for purchase all proceeds go back into the production of building space for artists and community. Seating is first come first serve. Doors open at 7:30pm. \nJason Luckett is a musician and has released multiple albums and performed globally. Known primarily as a singer and guitarist\, his music effortlessly mixes elements of the classic singer-songwriters with the jazz\, soul and samba he grew up hearing at home. Over the years\, Jason has played\, recorded or shared the stage with artists ranging from Stevie Wonder\, Tracy Chapman\, BB King\, Jeff Buckley\, The Indigo Girls\, Melissa Etheridge\, Russell Ferrante (Yellowjackets)\, and members of Bauhaus\, The Red Hot Chili Peppers\, Lenny Kravitz’s band\, The Count Basie Orchestra\, Tears for Fears\, Sheryl Crow’s band and others. \nArchetype Yoga is a perfect venue to host and bring people together! An airy loft space located in the heart of the Playhouse Village offering daily yoga classes\, workshops and retreats.
