Join us as we explore Art Deco in this historic district (both old and new!)\, learn about the prominent architects behind their design\, and hear about Pasadena Heritage’s involvement in the preservation and development of these buildings! \nTours last approximately 1.5 hours with a walking distance of approximately 1 mile. For the comfort of all our guests\, dogs are not permitted on Pasadena Heritage walking tours.

This walking tour will feature a variety of architectural styles and several of the district’s most notable landmarks including its namesake\, the Pasadena Playhouse! \nTours last approximately 1.5 hours with a walking distance of approximately 1 mile. For the comfort of all our guests\, dogs are not permitted on Pasadena Heritage walking tours. \nOur next traditional Pasadena Playhouse District Walking Tour will be on Saturday\, October 5th. It’s full of art installations\, murals\, and architecture representing a wide range of styles and time periods. \nOn this walking tour\, you’ll learn about one of Pasadena’s first Art Deco buildings\, the first parking structure in the city\, and Southern California’s largest and oldest independent bookstore. We’ll talk about how the arts helped shape this district from its beginnings up to the present day\, and how the village continues to support a vibrant\, dynamic group of local artists and entrepreneurs. \nWe’ll end our tour with “Pasadena Agua Fresca” featuring hibiscus and rose water that will be provided complimentary to all attendees\, courtesy of Anaya’s Restaurant. \nTotal walking distance will be approximately 1.5 miles. \nWe recommend wearing comfortable shoes and a light jacket (weather-dependent). \nPlease RSVP in advance so we have an idea of how many attendees to anticipate. \nThis event is a collaboration of Julia Long\, Council Member Jason Lyon\, and the Playhouse Village Association and is part of Walktober Pasadena 2023\, made possible by the City of Pasadena Department of Transportation.
