DESCRIPTION:Join artist and maker Stacy Wong as she teaches you how to create a beautiful\, hand-stitched pop-up card! Using simple craft materials\, this card is a perfect to gift to someone special. She is a lifelong collector\, maker\, creative\, and inspired by all types and styles of art. Wood has been her preferred medium for creating because it is solid and its surfaces can be painted\, stamped and printed upon yet the integrity of the natural wood is still there. She designs and creates goods which are modern\, aesthetically pleasing\, and functional. They are products which make you feel good about giving. She makes all of her products\, one at a time in Manhattan Beach\, California. \nStacy has been teaching creative workshops since 2015 as a way to give back and share with the community. DESCRIPTION:Unwind in this soothing mandala drawing workshop\, which takes inspiration from flower motif designs. \nIn this drawing workshop\, you will learn how to create intricate geometric patterns using overlapping layouts of shapes and organic forms. \nWhat is a Mandala? \nA mandala is a spiritual symbol in Buddhism and Hinduism. It’s a symbolic representation of the universe with an inner and outer world. Her art workshops and exhibitions have attracted thousands of live participants across Southern California at notable venues such as the USC Pacific Asia Museum\, the Autry’s Southwest Museum\, the Audubon Center at Debs Park\, and the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art. Q likes to marry the old and the new in her art practice\, frequently inspired by her Vietnamese cultural heritage and classical arts as well as her interests in modern technology and contemporary social issues. \n  \nBorn in Vietnam and immigrated to the US as a teenager\, her poetry and art was also featured on the cover of the Inlandia Institute’s 2020 literary anthology titled “A Short Guide To Finding Your First Home In The US.” As a community art organizer\, she has curated and developed multiple public art programs in the North East LA region\, attracting more than 15\,000 participants and providing work opportunities to more than 200 artists and independent creatives.
