SUMMARY:Walktober: Pasadena's Sacred Spaces
DESCRIPTION:Let’s walk to 10 Churches in and around Downtown Pasadena and see as many interiors as possible. \n\n\n\n\nIf you’ve looked around\, you’ve no doubt noticed that Pasadena has a lot of beautiful\, old churches. Haven’t you wondered about their history\, their architecture\, and what they look like inside? Join walk leader\, Noel McCarthy\, for “Sacred Spaces\,” a 3-mile walk around Pasadena’s central core. We’ll visit 10 churches and talk briefly about the history and architecture of each. We’ll go inside as many as we are allowed to enter with the time permitting. \nMeet in the courtyard of the Del Mar Metro station\, near the entrance of the old train station (formerly La Grande Orange restaurant). \n\nTotal distance will be approximately 3 miles.\nWe recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes\, sunblock\, and a hat.\nWe also recommend bringing water and a snack.\n\nPlease register in advance to help us anticipate the number of attendees. \n\nWe encourage walking\, biking or taking transit to all Walktober events. Check the Pasadena Transit and Metro websites for transit options. Google maps walking and biking directions can also be helpful.\nCity installed bike racks are available at or near the start location.\nStreet parking is available at or near the start location. Check the parking signs for restrictions or pay options.\nPaid off-street parking is available in the area.\n\nFor accessibility information and requests\, contact (626) 744-7311 or CSC@cityofpasadena.net. \n​Providing at least 72 hours advance notice will help ensure availability.

These are dedicated play hours when we welcome families and children with developmental differences. Play for All Abilities means we stand true to our values of access and inclusion.  \nDuring Play for All Abilities hours\, we adjust our space and programs to provide: \n\nLess crowded space\nQuiet atmosphere with limited stimuli (low lights\, no music\, no microphone)\nProvide space for families to build community and children to make friends\nSensory backpacks\, which include noise-cancelling headphones and sensory toys*\nVisual guide\nNonverbal communication cards\n\nRegular admission applies.
