DESCRIPTION:PASADENA\, Calif.— The ribbon cutting ceremony for the Union Street Protected Bikeway project along Union Street between Arroyo Parkway and Hill Avenue and along Holliston Avenue between Union Street and Cordova Street is scheduled for Saturday\, September 9\, 2023\, in front of City Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. \nThe Union Street Protected Bikeway is a 1.5-mile-long two-way protected bike lane along Union Street and a 0.3-mile-long bike boulevard along Holliston Avenue with traffic signal and curb ramp improvements along both streets. This project is an opportunity for residents and visitors to reach Pasadena destinations such as Old Pasadena\, Playhouse Village\, Pasadena City College\, and CalTech on a bike. \nA ribbon-cutting ceremony and resource fair will take place on Saturday\, September 9\, 2023\, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in Centennial Square. Local\, state\, and federal elected officials and dignitaries have been invited to speak at the event and join us in an inaugural bike ride. The morning’s events will begin at 8:30 a.m.\, with dignitaries speaking at 9:30 a.m. and a short inaugural bike ride on Union Street from City Hall to Playhouse Village Park and back\, immediately to follow. \n\n\n\nThe Playhouse House Village team will be set up at Playhouse Village Park\, offering a community water station to all ride participants. Don’t forget to drop by and stay hydrated!

DESCRIPTION:Pasadena Heritage commemorates Hispanic Heritage Month with a free program. The early 20th Century saw the birth of the Spanish Colonial Revival style in Southern California. Presenter and Board Member Dave Nufer will examine the many notable Spanish Colonial Revival style buildings in Pasadena including City Hall\, the Central Library\, the Pasadena Playhouse\, and the historic Caltech campus. A study of Pasadena’s recent Hispanic-influenced projects\, such as the Del Mar Station complex and the Paseo\, will be included as well. Join Pasadena Heritage as they trace the thousand-year development of Spanish architecture from its Moorish roots to its revival and prominence in Pasadena!
