DESCRIPTION:Playhouse Village Foundation looks forward to welcoming you to A Night Out in Playhouse Village this spring at the legendary Ice House Comedy Club in Pasadena – an evening for the community to come together and enjoy comedy\, food\, silent and live auctions.  This event is made possible through the generosity of our host Johnny Buss the Ice House and our Lead Sponsor Lagerlof Cares. \nA Night Out in Playhouse Village seeks to raise funds to support Playhouse Village Foundation’s efforts to build community in the heart of Pasadena – a mission more relevant than ever in the wake of the disastrous Eaton Fire. The event will raise funds specifically to support free events this summer at Playhouse Village Park\, streetscape projects\, community art\, and more. We look forward to welcoming our friends from Altadena with the destruction of the beloved Farnsworth Park and its summer concert series. \nAs the cultural heart of Pasadena\, Playhouse Village envisions walkable streets\, an exciting mix of retail and entertainment destinations\, bustling restaurants\, thriving employers and institutions\, historic and contemporary housing\, and a wide array of free events  – all combining to create a dynamic urban village in the heart of Pasadena.

SUMMARY:Ice House Comedy: Carlos Mencia
DESCRIPTION:Ice House Comedy presents Carlos Mencia! \nComedian Carlos Mencia is best known for his raw and unfiltered style of comedy\, which he has showcased to great success on comedy stages\, and in television shows and movies.  He has recently gone back to his comedic roots on his No Hate No Fear comedy tour\, sharing his newest material with smaller\, more intimate audiences. As a comedian who finds the hilarious irony in both the day-to-day and the newsworthy events\, Carlos is never lacking in material; he recently shot two stand-up specials due out later this year.   Carlos will also reprise his role as Felix Boulevardez in Disney+’s “The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder\,” the revival of the groundbreaking animated series “The Proud Family.”  The show is heading into its second season.\n  \nMencia comes from a humble background\, born in San Pedro Sula\, Honduras\, the 17th of 18 children. His parents sent him to the United States when he was three months old\, where he was raised in the Maravilla Projects in Los Angeles by his aunt and uncle. In his early teens\, Mencia moved back to Honduras.  When Mencia returned to Los Angeles\, he showed such educational prowess that he pursued a career in engineering.  But an amateur night at the world-renowned Laugh Factory comedy club would change his path\, and a career in comedy began.  He became a regular at The Comedy Store\, performing nightly. After he found success on the Los Angeles comedy circuit\, Mencia was named International Comedy Grand Champion from Buscando Estrellas (the Latin version of Star Search)\, eventually landing on shows such as “In Living Color\,” “The Arsenio Hall Show\,” and “An Evening at the Improv.”

DESCRIPTION:Ice House comedy presents Guy Torry’s Phat Tuesdays! LIVE IN THE LEGENDARY ROOM! Ice House doors open at 7pm. Seating in the showroom begins 30 minutes prior to showtime. The show Starts at 8pm. 21+ with a 2-item minimum per seat. \nIn the tradition of comedians who have made the transition from the stage to the screen\, such as Richard Pryor and Bill Cosby\, multi-talented Guy Torry has made the leap to comedic actor with great success. Guy has been seen on BET’s “Comic View\,” Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend\,” “Showtime at the Apollo” and “Russell Simmons: Def Comedy Jam” where he made his stand up debut to a national audience. Guy also hosted the enormously successful 52 city comedy tour The Kings of Comedy\, which grossed over $37M. He created a unique concept called Phat Comedy Tuesdays which was a weekly showcase for up and coming comedians. This evolved into a weekly spotlight at the Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip entitled The Guy Torry Show where Guy hosts and produces a comedy showcase featuring an improv comedy troupe. This event was regularly attended by the comedy A-List including Eddie Murphy\, Chris Tucker\, and Chris Rock.
